My interest in martial arts started over 35 years ago, a journey that has ultimately led me to the study of taiji quan (tai chi chuan) - more specifically, the Wu style Hao family art, a style rarely seen even in China and which until comparatively recently was only taught behind closed doors.

It is one thing to have read “the Classics” and think you have a general understanding of Taiji yet to be given the oral explanation and then have this demonstrated so that you may experience the correct feeling and effect allows the student to realise the depth and subtlety that can be attained.

Linage and discipleship are very important in martial arts to insure undiluted transmission of knowledge and theory from teacher to student,so studying Wu style Hao family Taijiquan with Sifu Ugur Osman, disciple of Master Liu Jishun, is a great honour His understanding and application of this rare and treasured style of taiji quan is humbling and his traditional and structured teaching has put his students on the path to attaining true taiji skills.

Kung Fu lives in everything, it lives inside us, all around us and how we treat people....
We must endeavour to be our best, realise the truth, be open, honest and true with all our heart. Unfortunately some people lack in even the most basic kung fu.

A few years ago , my husband John and I, walked into a church hall in North London looking for an activity that we could enjoy together that would keep us both fit and healthy. Quite by chance , I ended up finding something completely unexpected and totally fascinating. My growing passion for Taiji recently culminated in a recent trip to China with my instructor to practice and study in the birthplace of Taiji (Tai Chi).
