From previous article;
In addition a dedicated mixed group of other Hao stylists are training hard (or should that be soft) to hone their skills in regular Hao run training sessions designed to teach the full syllabus on this integral part of Taiji as well as forms and weapons, who knows some of them may decide to enter as well?
These push hands competitions are in many ways a misnomer as they do tend to descend into a test of strength and grappling, as opposed to an exchange of skill where the shen fa requirements are understood and incorporated into the practitioners structure, furthermore there should be an understanding of substantial and insubstantial.
In addition the other Hao theories that have been taught in the classes (depending upon your length of time training) will fully complement you in your endevours.
It should be acknowledged that Hao style push hands is an exercise designed to improve and increase your "skill" , we sometimes vary the foot method and this can be contrary to the rules for this BCCMA event so to "compete" in this manner is different to how you will normally practice this in a two person set.
